Event Two: Monster Smashin' (RP Date Set!)

Now that the introductions are over, let's begin with our story. It begins in Helion...

Helion! City of gold! Fortunate is anyone who chooses to live here!

It's hard to believe that Helion would ever see a dark day. It seems to rise above the clouds, away from the storms, and close to the light of Ith. But terrible days come for everyone, even in a land created by gods.

A crowd gathered near the Fountain of Wishes, listening to the tale of a terrified traveler.

"A beast! No, a monster! A demon from hell! It had 2 sets of eyes, 2 sets of teeth and made of rocks and scales and spikes. It wrecked everything in its path!"

A person from the crowd spoke up. "I too saw a strange monster! But it looked like one of us. His eyes glowed red and he didn't have a mouth."

More started to speak up, recounting their sightings of strange creatures. They all described the monsters differently, but one thing seemed to be the same...

None of those creatures were native to Myriad.

One is a happening. Two is coincidence. Three is an enemy move.

"Alert the queen! Get the messengers going! We need to alert the rest of Myriad before it's too late!"

Unfortunately, the messages couldn't get to their destinations fast enough...

Valorian monsters have invaded Myriad! It is now even more dangerous to travel alone! You are more likely to be attacked if you are traveling in a group, but you stand a better chance of surviving.

OBJECTIVE: Create a scene of your character fighting a Valorian monster.
Event type: Individual

Information on Valorian monsters:
Valorian monsters come in all shapes and sizes! They can be from giant lizards, to humanoids, to blobs.
They all have gray and black color schemes. If the monster has eyes, the eyes are red.
They are all hostile, bloodthirsty, and extremely dangerous.
They are found in every region. They aren't shy about entering city areas!
Some Valorian monsters can overpower monsters native to Myriad.
Valorian monsters are said to have been created by the Valorian empress herself.

This event can be done either in writing, a picture, or comics!
You will receive different amounts of GP depending on what you do.
You can either do separate entries for each of your characters, cram them all into one entry, or divide your characters among entries. Each character will get the same amount of GP either way.

If you are doing a comic...
...that has 15 panels or more (multi-page or as one single page)...
You will be awarded 35 GP, no matter what, as long as it's before the due date. You only get all 35 if the comic is colored. (A black and white or sketched/lineart comic will only get 30 GP.) If your comic has more than one page, your points will be awarded to you after you have the last page submitted.

...that has 6 to 14 panels (multi-page or as one single page)...
You will be awarded 30 GP, no matter what, as long as it's before the due date. You only get all 30 if the comic is colored. (A black and white or sketched/lineart comic will only get 25 GP.) If your comic has more than one page, your points will be awarded to you after you have the last page submitted.

...that has 5 to 3 panels (multi-page or as one single page)...
You will be awarded 25 GP, no matter what, as long as it's before the due date. You only get all 25 if the comic is colored. (A black and white or sketched/lineart comic will only get 20 GP.) If your comic has more than one page, your points will be awarded to you after you have the last page submitted.

Your work only counts as a comic if there are 3 panels or more! 2 panel comics will be counted as pictures!

If you are doing a picture...
Your entry must be flat colored AT LEAST to be accepted into the event folder.

Due dates and GP amounts awarded:
On or before Saturday, October 20, 2012 11:59 PM EST - 35 GP
On or before Saturday, October 27, 2012 11:59 PM EST - 30 GP
On or before Saturday, November 3, 2012 11:59 PM EST - 25 GP
On or before Saturday, November 10, 2012 11:59 PM EST - 20 GP
On or before Saturday, November 17, 2012 11:59 PM EST - 15 GP
On or before Saturday, November 24, 2012 11: 59 PM EST -10 GP

If you are doing a literature piece:
Please refer to the due dates above for your maximum GP amounts.

If your writing piece is 1000 words or more, you will receive the maximum amount of GP for that due date.
If your writing piece is BELOW 500 words, you will get 5 GP LESS than the maximum for the due date.
If your writing piece is between 500 and 1000 words, an appropriate amount of GP will be subtracted from the maximum for the due date. (For example, some one submits a piece that is about 900 words. They will lose only 1 GP. If someone submits a piece that is about 600 words, they will lose 4 GP.)

The final due date for all entries is Saturday, November 24, 2012 11:59 PM EST. If you submit your entry after this date, your entry will be put in Artwork, and you will receive the normal amount of GP (+5).

Submit all your pieces into the Event folder!
If you want to submit concept drawings of your monsters, please send them to WIPs!

Event RP:
Friday, November 9th, 2012 at 4:30 PM EST

If we have to, the RP will carry over into Saturday at 1:30 PM and Sunday at 6:30 PM.

If it's possible, I will log the entire RPs and submit them to the gallery so that people who couldn't attend can find out what happened.

RP Prompt:
Your character has been dealing with the Valorian monsters for weeks, and it's no surprise that they're sick of it. While making his/her way along a road, they find a strange flyer pinned to a wall/bulletin board/tree (Depends on where you envision them at. XD). Gathering a party to extinguish the beasts. If you're interested, meet me in the basement at Saint Eloria's Church in Helion. --Y.A. For whatever reason, your character decides to answer Y.A.'s call.
